چکیده

For integers k > 0 and r > 0, a conditional (k, r)-coloring of a graph G is a proper k-coloring of the vertices of G such that every vertex v of degree d(v) in G is adjacent to vertices with at least min{r, d(v)} different colors. The smallest integer k for which a graph G has a conditional (k, r)-coloring is called the rth order conditional chromatic number, denoted by χr(G). For different values of r we obtain χr(G) of certain parameterized graphs viz., Windmill graph, line graph of Windmill graph, middle graph of Friendship graph, middle graph of a cycle, line graph of Friendship graph, middle graph of complete k-partite graph and middle graph of a bipartite graph.

-λ coloring of graphs and Conjecture Δ ^ 2

For a given graph G, the square of G, denoted by G2, is a graph with the vertex set V(G) such that two vertices are adjacent if and only if the distance of these vertices in G is at most two. A graph G is called squared if there exists some graph H such that G= H2. A function f:V(G) {0,1,2…, k} is called a coloring of G if for every pair of vertices x,yV(G) with d(x,y)=1 we have |f(x)-f(y)|2 an...

On the parameterized complexity of coloring graphs in the absence of a linear forest

The k-Coloring problem is to decide whether a graph can be colored with at most k colors such that no two adjacent vertices receive the same color. The List k-Coloring problem requires in addition that every vertex u must receive a color from some given set L(u) ⊆ {1, . . . , k}. Let Pn denote the path on n vertices, and G + H and rH the disjoint union of two graphs G and H and r copies of H, r...

Bounds and Fixed-Parameter Algorithms for Weighted Improper Coloring

We study the weighted improper coloring problem, a generalization of defective coloring. We present some hardness results and in particular we show that weighted improper coloring is not fixed-parameter tractable when parameterized by pathwidth. We generalize bounds for defective coloring to weighted improper coloring and give a bound for weighted improper coloring in terms of the sum of edge w...

Fine-Grained Parameterized Complexity Analysis of Graph Coloring Problems

The q-Coloring problem asks whether the vertices of a graph can be properly colored with q colors. Lokshtanov et al. [SODA 2011] showed that q-Coloring on graphs with a feedback vertex set of size k cannot be solved in time O∗((q− ε)), for any ε > 0, unless the Strong Exponential-Time Hypothesis (SETH) fails. In this paper we perform a fine-grained analysis of the complexity of q-Coloring with ...
